New government rankings on hospital care give St. John’s Hospital three stars out of five… while Memorial Medical Center gets two stars out of five.
The study claims St. John’s is below the national average in safety of care, while Memorial ranks lower in mortality rates and timeliness and effectiveness of care.
The rankings, posted at medicare.gov, have come under fire from hospital groups who say they don’t truly reflect the quality of care at those facilities.
