A local congressman is celebrating final approval of the GOP tax overhaul bill.
Republican Congressman Darin LaHood downplays the notion that the bill is overwhelmingly tilted toward the wealthy, saying middle-class households in Central Illinois will see meaningful tax savings under the plan.
On the WMAY News Feed, LaHood acknowledged concerns that the plan will increase the nation’s deficit and debt, but says increased economic activity… and keeping a close eye on federal spending… should balance that out.
