You’re probably not in any hurry to pay your property taxes… but it is an option that’s open to you. Sangamon County Treasurer Tom Cavanagh says county residents can prepay their 2017 property taxes, which would ordinarily be due in the summer of 2018.
With looming federal tax changes, there could be some benefit to pre-paying in this calendar year, but Cavanagh recommends consulting a tax attorney to determine the best option for you.
