Just days after endorsing the wealthiest Democratic candidate for governor, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is acknowledging that he’s concerned about the effect of all that big money on Illinois politics.
Durbin says that multi-millionaires and billionaires are making it more difficult for non-wealthy candidates to compete. Durbin’s statement follows his endorsement of billionaire J.B. Pritzker to run against another billionaire, Governor Bruce Rauner.
He says Pritzker is the most electable candidate in what could be the most expensive race in Illinois history.
