Governor Bruce Rauner is barely acknowledging that he has a primary opponent… and he’s not yet committing to debate her.
The governor and Representative Jeanne Ives have been invited to take part in a GOP primary debate in February, jointly sponsored by the State Journal-Register and WMAY.
The Ives camp indicates they will participate, but Rauner’s campaign has not committed to it.
Rauner was asked several times Friday if he would agree to debate Ives. He finally answered only that he was certain he would win the general election.
