Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder is still resisting Sangamon County’s push to create a public-private partnership for economic development.
Langfelder is balking at the cost and questions the wisdom of Springfield giving up its own economic development efforts in favor of a countywide approach.
Langfelder is proposing his own alternative… converting the regional planning commission to an office of planning and economic development, using money that the city already pays for the planning commission.
