A Springfield woman has died of the injuries she suffered when her car was struck head-on by a suspected drunk driver Tuesday night. 73-year-old Irinda Gregory died Wednesday afternoon, hours after the crash that closed Route 4 between Chatham and Auburn for hours.
Coroner Cinda Edwards also says an earlier report that a four-year-old boy was a passenger in Gregory’s car was incorrect… and that the boy was actually a passenger in the other car, driven by 65-year-old Teresa Gray of Virden.
Gray is facing DUI and multiple other charges.
