Help could be just a phone call away for people battling opioid addiction.
The state of Illinois is setting up a 24-7 hotline to connect callers to addiction treatment centers and other resources. It’s part of an effort to reduce the number of overdose deaths in the state by one-third over the next three years.
Overdoses took more lives last year than either homicides or traffic accidents.
The hotline number for addiction assistance is 1-833-2FINDHELP.
