Governor Bruce Rauner is promising big news soon about the closed and crumbling Coliseum on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The century-old building has been closed since early this year because of serious structural deficiencies. Rauner told the Illinois Farm Bureau Monday that he had hoped to have an announcement on repairs for the building… but says details are being worked out.
But he suggested that he and other private individuals are putting together a fund to pay for the work. The estimated price tag of repairs could top $3 million.
