State officials are trying to make sure your holiday doesn’t go from festive to a fire hazard. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is putting out a reminder about holiday decorations.
They remind you never to leave candles unattended… and to make sure lit candles are always on stable furniture, in a fire-safe holder to catch melted wax.
And check your holiday lights to make sure they have been evaluated for safety by an independent testing lab.
