Illinois’s Republican congressmen are firing back at the state’s two Democratic U.S. Senators.
Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth had sent a letter to their GOP counterparts in the House criticizing the Republican tax reform plan as harmful to middle- and lower-income households.
But Republicans are responding that something has to be done to give Illinoisans some relief after a state income tax hike pushed by Democrats in the General Assembly.
The GOP delegation also contends that, on average, at every income level there will be a tax cut under their plan.
