The Rochester Rockets have capped a perfect season with a down-to-the-wire win against Morris to claim the Class 4A state championship.
A field goal as time expired lifted the Rockets to a 24-21 win, the school’s 7th state title. Rochester had led for much of the game before Morris tied it late, but a long drive led by quarterback Nic Baker brought the team to field goal range and set up the game winner by sophomore kicker Clay Alewelt.
