It’s a happy Thanksgiving for five people… but disappointing for 97 others.
Governor Bruce Rauner has granted five clemency requests, but rejected the other 97 in the latest stack of petitions to cross his desk. It’s the 21st set of clemency requests reviewed by Rauner since he took office.
One of the five cases is from Sangamon County. Rauner granted a pardon to Jessica Landgrebe for a 2001 cannabis conviction. The decision will allow her to seek an expungement of her criminal record.
