State Police Issue Warning After Large Rock Dropped From Overpass

Illinois State Police are delivering a stern warning after someone tossed a large rock from an overpass near Lincoln early Monday, damaging a car and nearly injuring two people inside.

Police say the rock was around the size of a bowling ball and weighed ten pounds… it passed through the roof of the vehicle and narrowly missed the driver and a rear seat passenger.

In a statement, state police say that such actions are felonies and can land someone in jail… and they say whoever is responsible would be better off to come forward and confess instead of waiting for someone to turn them in.
