Conservation Officials Crack Down On Hunting Violations

This is the first weekend of firearm deer hunting season in Illinois… but state officials are cracking down on hunting outside the limits set under the law.

An enforcement detail earlier this month led to 50 citations in Pike and Adams counties.

State officials say the arranged hunt on private land involved multiple violations of the law… including the use of bait to attract deer into the area where hunters were waiting.
