One man is hurt and another is in custody after an early-morning shooting on Springfield’s west side.
Witnesses say someone tried to kick in the front door of a residence in the 2000 block of West Washington shortly after midnight Friday morning, and then fired a shot into the residence. A 21-year-old man was hit in the shoulder, but is expected to recover.
Detectives located and questioned a suspect and then arrested him. 19-year-old Liam Downing is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
